Plan and execute regional training days for Viittomakielialan Osuuskunta Via
Introduce some service design methods and tools to my employer through the project
My role: Plan and organize Regional training days with help and supervision of Via’s Training Coordinator. Project is part of a 5-10ECT practical training.
Project challenges:
Training days organised regionally
Limited budget and limited day schedule
Incorporating employee wishes, regional needs and new strategy to program
Tools and methods: Observation, interviews, feedback form, workshop (empathy maps, brainstorming, quick voting), Miro, Canva
Project phases
My creative work concentrated mostly on the planning phase of the up-comming training days, organizing a remote workshop and crafting a compilation of the results and concept ideas.
Once the concept and program were approved, responsibilities were divided amongst regional supervisors with area specific knowledge to do practical reservations and organizing. My role then shifted to following up tasks, coordinating check-ups and refining rough edges of the plan.
As a result of the practical training I will produce a report on the actual organizing process but also a document on my observations of how design thinking and service design methods can be used within Via’s operations and scaled to larger projects and all levels of decision making and development.
Concept for training day:
“Where am I now and where are we going?”
A training day that concentrates on both the individual level of an employee as well as the company level and future visions.
Two workshops: 1. internally led and focuses on regional needs, self assessment and expectations. 2. Externally led, focuses on future thinking, building up resilience and reflecting on company strategy.
Recreation and community spirit building
Remote workshop for employees. Finding understanding of different employee needs through empathy mapping.
